US Treasury Secretary: Bank SLR rules expected to be canceled this summer, US treasury yields likely to plummet significantly.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Bezent said that regulatory agencies may lift a long-standing rule that has restricted banks' trading of U.S. government bonds this summer. Bezent said that they are very close to taking action to supplement leverage ratio regulations. He noted that the three major banking regulators, the Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, are working to address this issue, "I think we may see results in the summer".
