The San Diego police in California, USA, said on the 20th that they received a report that there may be a bomb on a flight about to take off from San Diego International Airport. All passengers on board were evacuated, but no suspicious items were found later. One person was arrested in connection with the incident. The San Diego police said in a statement that on the morning of the 20th at around 8:45 am, an Airbus A330 aircraft of Hawaiian Airlines scheduled to fly to Honolulu, Hawaii was informed by a flight attendant before takeoff that a passenger had reported a possible bomb on board. The captain immediately alerted the authorities. All 293 people on board were evacuated and moved to a safe area. Police and FBI personnel searched the aircraft and found no suspicious items. Subsequently, passengers were able to reboard the flight, which departed for Honolulu at around 2:15 pm that day. Hawaiian Airlines said in a statement, "Someone heard a passenger threatening the safety of our aircraft, so the captain informed the authorities as a precaution." San Diego police spokesperson Brianna Mandy Page said that one person has been arrested, but did not disclose information about the suspect or the charges. The police will release more details later.
