According to reports, 21 banks have agreed to grant SoftBank a $15 billion loan to support its AI investments, with $1.35 billion coming from Mizuho Bank, $1.25 billion from Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, and $1 billion from J.P. Morgan Chase. In addition, HSBC Holdings and Barclays have also lent $950 million and $850 million respectively. This financing will help support SoftBank's future AI development and direction, with the group's primary task being a $6.5 billion acquisition of chip design company Ampere Computing LLC, and plans to invest as much as $30 billion in OpenAI. Chief Financial Officer Yoshimitsu Goto stated that the group's actual requirement was double the $15 billion, and the quick response from the banks reflects the strong relationship and close communication between the group and the banks.
