On May 21, the Eighth West Lake Conference, organized by Securities Times, was held in Hangzhou. Qi Yuan, a distinguished professor at Fudan University and the director of the Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology Intelligence, stated in his keynote speech that artificial intelligence, from chatbots to reasoning, and to intelligent agents, is serving various industries. In his view, intelligent agents are not only perception, but also the realization of overall value such as decision-making and mobilization of tools. Qi Yuan also mentioned that the development of artificial intelligence may bring risks, including survival, economic, and social risks. "We cannot stop the rise of artificial intelligence, nor should we try to stop it. What we need is explainable and controllable artificial intelligence, which requires reducing the risks of artificial intelligence through open source communication and cooperation, empowering various industries."
