Musk responds to suggestion of acquiring Uber: There is no need
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, in an interview with the media, responded to a question about whether Tesla is considering acquiring Uber. He clearly stated, "There is no need." Musk emphasized that with the development of Tesla's autonomous driving technology, in the future, users will be able to summon an autonomous Tesla car without relying on traditional ride-hailing services. He further explained that Tesla plans to establish a fleet of autonomous driving vehicles consisting of company-owned vehicles and vehicles voluntarily joined by owners. Owners can choose to add their vehicles to this fleet and provide transportation services to other users in autonomous driving mode, thereby generating income. This model is similar to Airbnb's sharing economy concept and aims to maximize the efficiency of vehicle use.
