On May 21st, the South Korean Ministry of Transportation announced that Kia Motors, BMW Korea, and Hyundai Motor Company will voluntarily recall a total of 14 models and 16,577 vehicles due to manufacturing defects. Kia will recall a total of 12,949 vehicles, including the Seltos model, due to a high-pressure fuel pipe defect that may cause fuel leakage and fire risk. BMW will recall a total of 2,213 vehicles, including the 520i model, due to improper installation of the 48V starter generator component that may lead to charging failure. Hyundai Motor Company will take corrective measures for 1,390 Elec City hydrogen fuel cell buses due to a design defect in the emission outlet of the hydrogen fuel cell bus.
