Due to component defects, Kia, BMW, and Hyundai have recalled more than 16,000 cars.

On May 21, the South Korean Ministry of Transport announced that Kia Motors, BMW Korea, and Hyundai Motor Company will voluntarily recall a total of 16,577 vehicles from 14 different models. Among them, Kia will recall a total of 12,949 vehicles, including the Seltos model, due to a high-pressure fuel pipe defect that may cause fuel leaks and fire risks. BMW will recall a total of 2,213 vehicles from 11 models, including the 520i, due to improper installation of the 48V starter generator component that may lead to charging failures. Hyundai Motor Company will take corrective measures for 1,390 Elec City hydrogen fuel cell buses due to a design defect in the emission port cover of the hydrogen fuel cell buses.
