Jordan and Syria signed a memorandum of understanding to communicate and cooperate in various fields in the future.
On May 20th, local time, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and the Syrian regime's official in charge of foreign affairs, Asaad Shaban, jointly signed a memorandum of understanding to establish and launch a "High Coordination Committee" in the Syrian capital, Damascus. The two sides reached consensus on establishing the committee during Safadi's visit to Syria on April 17th this year. They discussed future cooperation in various fields such as water resources and energy. They agreed on a "pragmatic cooperation roadmap" covering short-term and long-term goals, aimed at advancing practical cooperation through systematic planning to serve the fundamental interests of the two peoples. The decisions will be further implemented by technical delegations from both sides through subsequent exchanges, ensuring the goals outlined by the High Coordination Committee are successfully implemented.
