Ministry of Transport: China has the largest number of automated ports in the world, both in operation and under construction.

Xu Wenqiang, the director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport, introduced at a press conference on May 20th that in terms of port infrastructure, China's coastal ports have a leading overall scale in the world. Among the top ten ports in the world in terms of freight and container throughput, Chinese ports respectively occupy eight and six seats. In terms of the development of intelligent ports, China has the highest number of completed and under-construction automated terminals in the world. The world record for container handling efficiency at automated terminals is also created and maintained by Chinese ports.
