The S&P 500 index closed roughly flat, with the energy sector dropping by 1.5%. The consumer discretionary, technology, and financial sectors fell by up to 0.3%, while the healthcare sector saw a 0.9% increase. The Nasdaq 100 index closed roughly flat, with Grail, Arm Holdings, Atlassian, ON Semiconductor, Palantir, Tesla, Marvell Technology, AMD, and Charter Communications dropping by 4% to 2%. AppLovin, Boqii, MSTR, and Gilead Sciences all saw gains of at least 2%. The Dow Jones index closed with a gain of over 100 points, with UnitedHealth Group rising by 8%. Merck & Co. and Amgen rose by over 1%, while JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Apple, Arm Holdings, Chevron, and Nike all fell by at least 1%. The biotechnology index rose by 1.1%, while the US technology stock giants index fell by 0.1%. The "Trump Tariff Loser Index" dropped by 0.3%.
