Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Jefferson: Treating Moody's downgrade of the United States as general data processing for policy making.
Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Jefferson said on Monday that Federal Reserve policymakers will treat the news of Moody's downgrade of the United States credit rating the same as any other data used in formulating monetary policy. Jefferson stated at a financial market conference at the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, "We will view this downgrade from the perspective of all new information: how does it impact our policy objectives? We will not comment on the political and economic implications of this downgrade."
