Federal Reserve Williams: Not immediately concerned about foreign investors selling US assets.
Federal Reserve official Williams acknowledges that concerns about foreign investors pulling out of US assets do exist amid trade turbulence, but he believes that the US's "safe haven" status is not currently at imminent risk. Williams said that most of these concerns are still in the "people just talking about whether to discuss" stage. He said that the US still has unique attractiveness to global investors, citing the country's technological strength and the fact that the "American exception" has dominated global trade until recently. Williams said, "The US economy is really dynamic. Honestly, we are the center of the artificial intelligence universe."
