Dolmin Securities: The US dollar and American assets may be facing a "Lehman Brothers moment".
Mark McCormick, head of forex strategy at TD Securities, said that the latest round of sell-offs in US Treasuries and the US dollar is a rare case of the market punishing the United States for its reckless fiscal behavior. In an interview, he said that in the coming months the market may experience a US version of the "Lira Crisis moment", which will put pressure on the US dollar and US assets. "We've seen this script before. It looks like an emerging market," McCormick said; "What's happening is: rising yields, currency depreciation, and a stock market decline. This is not the usual United States we are used to, nor what we typically see in the US."
