On May 19, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with Polish Foreign Minister Szczygie. Wang Yi stated that Poland is an important strategic partner of China in Europe. China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with Poland and expand practical cooperation in various fields. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the establishment of the United Nations. China is willing to work together with Poland to uphold the post-World War II international order, the core status of the United Nations, and the basic principles of international law and international relations. Taiwan's return to China is also one of the achievements of the victory in World War II and an integral part of the post-war international order. It is hoped that Poland will uphold international consensus, continue to adhere to the One China policy, and oppose any form of separatist activities. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe, and it is hoped that Poland, as the rotating presidency of the European Union, will play a more constructive role and promote greater progress in China-Europe relations.
