Sudanese leader appoints Idris as Prime Minister of the government.

On May 19th, the Chairman of the Sudan Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Burhan, issued an order appointing Idris as Prime Minister to be responsible for forming a new government in Sudan. Idris was born in August 1954 and served as Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization from 1997 to 2008. In 2010, Idris also ran as an independent candidate for the presidency of Sudan.
