Cui Dongshu: From January to April 2025, the total amount of car consumption was 1.484 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%.

According to the Financial and Economic APP, on May 19, Cui Dongshu wrote that in April, faced with increasing external impacts and internal challenges, the complex situation in the automobile industry saw stable growth in production demand, continuous improvement in social consumption expectations, solid promotion of high-quality development, and a sustained trend of recovery and improvement in the automobile industry. According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the total retail sales of consumer goods from January to April amounted to 16.1845 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.7%. Among them, the consumption of automobiles was 1.484 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.5% year-on-year; while the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles amounted to 14.7005 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.2%. In April, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 3.7174 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. Among them, the consumption of automobiles was 362.6 billion yuan, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year; while the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles amounted to 3.3548 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.6%.
