Nissan discusses halting production of commercial van "NV200 VANETTE"

Nissan Motor Corporation is discussing the possibility of discontinuing production of the commercial vehicle "NV200 VANETTE" at its subsidiary "Nissan Shatai" Shonan factory. Within Nissan, the closure of the Shonan factory has been mentioned as a possible plan. The underperforming NV200 VANETTE will not be relocated to other factories for production, as Nissan plans to reduce costs by cutting models. Nissan is discussing transferring Shonan factory employees to the group company "Nissan Shatai Kyushu". There are proposals to have employees participate in the production of popular large SUVs such as "PATROL" in the Middle East, and the new large SUV "ELGRAND" planned for release in 2026.
