Canalys: Economic uncertainty suppresses demand, Southeast Asia's smartphone market declined by 3% year-on-year in the first quarter.
According to the latest research from Canalys, the Southeast Asian smartphone market saw a 3% year-on-year decline in the first quarter of 2025, marking the first decline after five consecutive quarters of annual growth. Samsung regained the top spot in the market with a shipment volume of 4.3 million units, holding a 19% market share. Xiaomi (01810.HK) became the only manufacturer among the top five to achieve year-on-year growth, with a 4% increase in shipment volume to 4 million units, capturing a 17% market share, achieving its best ranking since the peak before the pandemic in the second quarter of 2019.
