Nissan Motor Co. is exploring the closure of its main vehicle assembly plant in Tochigi and Nissan Shatai Co., a subsidiary that produces commercial vehicles, in the Shonan region. The company intends to adjust its production scale to reduce costs due to sluggish sales and improve performance.
