On the evening of May 16th at 8 o'clock, Tmall 618 spot sales started. Within 10 minutes of the sale, Japanese brand Nintendo's transaction exceeded one billion. In the first hour of the sale, 374 imported brands achieved double growth in transactions. Among them, Australian wine brand Penfolds' transactions increased by 20 times year-on-year, Israeli hair care brand Gotukola's transactions increased by 793%, American pet food brand Blue Buffalo's transactions increased by 344% year-on-year, Japanese digital brand FUJIFILM's transactions increased by 175%, South Korean fashion brand Emis' transactions increased by 161%, and Belgian fish oil brand WHC's transactions increased by 72% on the basis of high transaction volume. This year's Tmall 618 is focused on "the cheapest and simplest", with an official discount of 8.5% that can be stacked with 88VIP coupons, imported category coupons, and multiple discounts. There are more coupons available with larger amounts, and Tmall International has added a new category coupon that offers a discount of 210 for spending over 2100, allowing consumers to receive up to 420 yuan in imported category coupons and 820 yuan in 88VIP coupons. In the first hour of Tmall 618 sales, the enthusiasm for imported consumption surged and overseas brands collectively experienced a transaction boom.
