According to data from the New York Fed, the secured overnight financing rate (SOFR) was reported at 4.31% the previous trading day, up from 4.29% the day before. Before the market opened on May 16th, large SOFR options bets were placed on the possibility of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 100 basis points by June 2026. The effective federal funds rate from the previous trading day was reported at 4.33%, unchanged from the day before.
