Analysis: UK inflation data may accelerate.
Barclays economists Jack Meaning and Iaroslav Shelepko said in a report that the UK's inflation data for April, scheduled to be released on May 21, is expected to accelerate compared to the previous month, partly due to increases in national living wages and employer national insurance contributions. Economists predict that the overall annual inflation rate for April will rise to 3.3%, while the annual core inflation rate may rise to 3.5%. However, due to several annual resets and index price changes, as well as some one-time price changes, there is high uncertainty surrounding the April CPI.
