Vietnamese Prime Minister calls on the World Bank to provide funding support for Vietnam's high-speed rail project.
On the morning of May 15th, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Mariam Sherman, the World Bank's Chief Representative for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the World Bank continue to support Vietnam in key priority areas such as infrastructure construction, energy, agriculture, and private sector development at preferential interest rates. He also proposed that the World Bank provide funding support for the North-South high-speed railway project in Vietnam. The project is expected to start in 2026 with a total investment of around 67 billion dollars.
