The Ministry of Commerce holds a national meeting to promote the work of tax refund for departing passengers.

On May 15th, the National Conference on Promoting the Optimization of the Departure Tax Refund Policy and Expanding the Inbound Consumption Work was held in Beijing. The meeting pointed out that developing departure tax refunds is an important lever to boost consumption, an important measure to deal with external impact, and an important way to expand high-level opening to the outside world. Local commerce authorities should actively cooperate with relevant departments, accelerate the expansion of stores, increase products, and improve services, focus on increasing the coverage of tax refund stores, enhance the attractiveness of tax refund products, enhance the sense of satisfaction of overseas tourists, expand inbound consumption, and make positive contributions to boosting consumption and promoting sustained economic recovery. It is necessary to improve the working mechanism, strengthen interdepartmental coordination, widely gather forces, strengthen data empowerment, innovate work measures, and promote the rapid implementation of departure tax refund policies.
