138 people died due to the Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced on the 15th that Lassa fever outbreak has led to 138 deaths in Nigeria this year. The report stated that there have been 717 confirmed cases of Lassa fever in Nigeria this year, with a mortality rate of 19.2%. At least 18 states out of the 36 in Nigeria have been affected by the Lassa fever outbreak. Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows that in 2024, 214 people died from Lassa fever in Nigeria.
