New research fills the global genomic "southern blind spot."
Journalists learned on the 15th from the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences that the "Southeast Asian Population Genomics Project", which was led by the institute in collaboration with research institutions from several Southeast Asian countries and took 10 years to complete, has made significant progress in its first phase. For the first time, this research systematically reveals the genetic structure and evolutionary history of populations in mainland Southeast Asia, filling a research gap.
