Wall Street giant Jamie Dimon said on Thursday that even though the recent US-China tariffs have been reduced, the American economy still faces a significant risk of falling into a recession. "If a recession comes, I cannot predict its severity or duration. We may be able to avoid it, but at this moment we cannot rule out this possibility," the CEO of JPMorgan Chase said in an interview. Dimon specifically pointed out that he tends to adopt the assessment of the bank's economists - the current probability of an economic recession is close to 50-50. JPMorgan Chase's chief US economist Michael Feroli said in a report to clients on Tuesday that the prospect of a recession "remains elevated, but is currently below 50%."
