The UK plans to establish immigration removal centers in other countries.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on the 15th that the UK is in discussions with several countries to establish so-called "return centers" in their territories, as a transit point for immigrants who have failed to seek asylum in the UK while waiting for repatriation. Starmer, speaking at a press conference in the Albanian capital of Tirana with Prime Minister Edi Rama, described this as an "important innovation," but refused to disclose which countries he is negotiating with. He also hinted that Albania is not a candidate location due to its existing cooperation with Italy.
