Former French President Sarkozy granted parole and removed ankle monitor.

On May 15th local time, former French president Sarkozy was conditionally released and removed the electronic bracelet he had been wearing since February 7th. The Paris prosecutor's office stated that Sarkozy, who turned 70 on January 28, 2025, is eligible for early release before serving half of his sentence.
