The latest announcement from the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce shows that the use of Huawei's Ascend chip anywhere in the world violates U.S. export controls. On May 15, the spokesperson for the Department of Commerce, He Yongqian, responded by saying that the U.S. is abusing export control measures, unjustly restricting Chinese chip products under false pretenses, seriously damaging the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, seriously threatening the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, seriously undermining market rules and the international economic and trade order. The U.S. action is not conducive to long-term mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation and development between the two sides. China urges the U.S. to correct its wrong practices immediately and will take strong measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
