Yunnan procuratorial organs have filed a public prosecution against Chen Zhi for alleged bribery in accordance with the law.

Recently, the case of former deputy mayor Chen Zhi of Qujing City, Yunnan Province, suspected of bribery, has been investigated and concluded by the Yunnan Provincial Supervisory Committee, and transferred to the procuratorial organ for review and prosecution. Designated jurisdiction by the Yunnan Provincial People's Procuratorate, the Kunming Railway Transport Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Kunming Railway Transport Intermediate People's Court in accordance with the law. The case is still under further processing. During the review and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organ informed the defendant Chen Zhi of his litigation rights in accordance with the law, interrogated the defendant, and listened to the opinions of the defense counsel. The Kunming Railway Transport Procuratorate accuses the defendant Chen Zhi of using his positions as the mayor and party secretary of Luoshui Town, Xuanwei City, party secretary of Tangtang Town, Xuanwei City, deputy director of the Qujing City Coal Industry Bureau, deputy secretary of the Luo Ping County Party Committee, deputy county mayor, county mayor, and county party secretary of Fu Yuan County, and deputy mayor of Qujing City to seek benefits for others, illegally accepting property from others in a particularly large amount, and should be held criminally responsible for the crime of bribery according to law.
