Webb Telescope confirms existence of water ice in extraterrestrial star systems for the first time.
Astronomers, with the help of NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, have for the first time confirmed the existence of crystalline water ice in the debris disk around a young star located 155 light years from Earth. This research, published in the British journal Nature, confirms scientists' decades-long speculation that other star systems do indeed contain frozen water resources similar to those in our own solar system.
