Giant Bio's patent for "Type I recombinant collagen protein, its metal chelates and whitening cosmetics" has been granted.

The "Recombinant type I collagen, its metal chelates and whitening cosmetics" invention patent applied by Kyozo Biotech has recently been granted authorization. According to the abstract, the type I recombinant collagen and its metal chelates can not only inhibit tyrosinase activity but also inhibit the activity of protease-activated receptor 2, thus being able to both inhibit the generation of new melanin and prevent the transfer of existing melanin to the epidermis, thereby having a dual mechanism for whitening effect.
