A chemical warehouse in the small town of Guadaira in southern Spain caught fire and exploded on the 14th, with thick smoke billowing from the scene. Authorities issued a "shelter-in-place order" to nearly 80,000 residents, instructing them to stay indoors. The incident took place in an industrial park about 16 kilometers southeast of the city of Seville, where Guadaira is located. Guadaira has approximately 77,000 residents.
