Local consumers can now browse product details, view prices, and make payments in their local currency using Russian. This is the first time Taobao has introduced a multilingual version for a non-English speaking country. Test data from Taobao shows that one week after the launch of the Russian version, over 70% of new users on the Taobao Kazakhstan site are Russian-speaking, and the conversion rate for new user orders has increased by 47% compared to before.
