Kraft Heinz announces plans to invest $3 billion to upgrade its US factories, expecting to create around 3,500 new construction jobs but not anticipating the need to hire more employees. Pedro Navio, President of Kraft Heinz North America, says that upgrading the factories can increase efficiency and lower costs, helping to offset the impact of tariffs imposed by US President Trump. He also stated that almost all products sold in the US are manufactured domestically, and the upgrades will allow the company to launch and sell new products faster. Kraft Heinz produces products such as ketchup, pasta, and cheese at its 30 factories across the US. Last month, Kraft Heinz stated that tariffs increased their costs and reduced consumer purchases due to economic uncertainty.
