On May 14th, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: The presence of diplomats from Taiwan's so-called "diplomatic allies" Haiti and Saint Lucia at this year's 4th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Celac Forum has sparked discussion in Taiwan. The Democratic Progressive Party authorities claim that these diplomats do not represent their respective governments, what is your response to this? Chen Binhua, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said that the China-Celac Forum is an important platform for China to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have always welcomed and supported the participation of CELAC member countries in activities within the framework of the forum. Adhering to the One China principle is a norm in international relations and a consensus in the international community. We hope that the relevant countries will follow the trend of the times and make the right choices.
