State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: "Mini Three Links" facilitate visits for people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, especially for Taiwanese people visiting family and friends or for tourism purposes.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated that during this year's May Day holiday, the "small three links" between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait continued to operate smoothly, facilitating visits and tourism for people on both sides, especially Taiwanese compatriots. According to statistics, the four "small three links" passenger routes including Xiamen to Kinmen, Quanzhou to Kinmen, Fuzhou Mawei to Matsu, and Lianjiang Huangqi to Matsu, have a total of 17 vessels providing 8,568 passenger seats daily. From May 1st to 5th, there were over 180 trips on the "small three links" routes, carrying over 29,000 passengers, a 127.3% increase compared to last year. Among them, there were over 12,000 Taiwanese passengers, a 1.9% increase. To meet the needs of compatriots from both sides for visiting and tourism, cities like Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou have introduced "small three links" holiday tour packages, including free entry for Taiwanese on May Day, ticket discounts for Taiwanese, and new trendy tourism projects for Taiwanese visiting the mainland. Additionally, there are cultural exchange activities, intangible cultural heritage experiences, museum exhibitions, and other cultural tourism projects. At the "small three links" passenger terminals, dedicated staff are available to answer questions about policies, provide travel advice, and assist with transportation route inquiries. They also work with meteorological departments to provide forecasts for adverse weather, conduct inspections of port facilities and firefighting and rescue equipment in advance, ensuring a comfortable and safe "small three links" route.
