Trump visits Gulf countries, American technology companies NVIDIA and AMD sign an artificial intelligence agreement.
During President Trump's visit to the Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia has promised to provide $600 billion to American companies, and several American tech companies announced AI deals in the Middle East on Tuesday. In the largest deal, Nvidia said it will sell hundreds of thousands of AI chips in Saudi Arabia, with the first batch of 18,000 of the latest "Blackwell" chips being provided to the AI startup Humain recently launched by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund. Chip design company AMD also announced a deal with Humain, stating that they have reached a $10 billion cooperation agreement. Another company that announced an agreement with Humain is Qualcomm, which stated that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop and build data center central processors. The San Diego-based chip design company acquired server CPU manufacturer Nuvia in 2021 but has not yet launched a product. The deal will be bi-directional. The White House stated that Saudi company DataVolt will invest $200 billion in American AI data centers and energy infrastructure. The White House stated that Google's Alphabet, DataVolt, Oracle, Salesforce Inc, AMD, and Uber will invest $80 billion in cutting-edge transformative technologies in both countries, but the White House did not disclose details.
