Chen Guoji meets with the Governor of Hunan Province in hopes of deepening cooperation between Hunan and Hong Kong.
Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chen Guoji, met with the Governor of Hunan Province, Mao Weiming, in Hong Kong on the 13th to discuss deepening cooperation and exchanges between Hunan and Hong Kong. Chen Guoji expressed that Hunan and Hong Kong have maintained close economic and trade relations, with Hong Kong being an important source of foreign investment and trading partner for Hunan for many years. By 2024, Hong Kong will have established 208 new foreign-invested enterprises in Hunan, with the total trade volume between the two regions reaching approximately 56.3 billion RMB. Many Hong Kong-funded enterprises have investment projects in Hunan Province. Chen Guoji said that the Hong Kong SAR government is determined to develop low-altitude economy and has established a working group to formulate development strategies. Hunan is the first province in the country to carry out low-altitude open trial operations, and with its policy and industrial advantages, it is believed that the two regions can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of low-altitude economy. Chen Guoji stated that Hong Kong will continue to strengthen cooperation with Hunan in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, and youth exchanges, making greater contributions to the development of the country together.
