The China-US high-level economic and trade talks were held in Geneva, Switzerland on the 10th and 11th. On the 12th, the two sides issued the "Joint Statement of China-US Geneva Economic and Trade Talks". People from various industries in the United States welcomed this. They believe that this shows that the world's two largest economies are resolving their differences and seeking mutual benefit through equal dialogue and negotiation, in line with the best interests of both countries. Gene Seroka, the Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, one of the largest and busiest container ports in the United States, said in a statement, "This is good news for consumers, American businesses, workers, and supply chains." Mario Cordero, Executive Director of the Port of Long Beach, another important port in the United States, also said that this was good news. The American Apparel and Footwear Association pointed out in a statement that they welcome the agreement between the US and China to suspend additional tariffs for 90 days, believing that this may help alleviate the trade tensions between the two countries in the past month. Steve Hoffman, CEO of the well-known Silicon Valley incubator "Founder Space", said in an interview with reporters, "This is a crucial step forward. Imposing high tariffs increases the burden on companies, raises consumer costs, distorts trade flows, creates inefficiency, and exacerbates uncertainty. We should strive to create a trade environment that encourages the free flow of goods, services, and innovation in both directions."
