Trade tensions have eased, but this has done little to alleviate the growing anxiety in the US shipping and logistics industry in Long Beach and Los Angeles. Even excluding the ships that have already been canceled, these two ports remain the busiest in the United States, and the cancellations have led to a reduction in work shifts for California workers involved in loading and transporting goods. Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson said at a press conference on Monday, "This is still a crisis." Long Beach Port CEO Mario Cordero stated that adjustments will take one to two months to be reflected in port activities, "We are still in an uncertain period."
