Hong Kong has enacted subsidiary legislation in accordance with the National Security Law.

Today, the Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, together with the Executive Council, passed and promulgated the National Security Law (Maintenance of National Security) Regulations under Article 110 of the National Security Law, and issued the National Security Order under Article 42 of the National Security Law. The regulations provide specific details on the responsibilities of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in order to further improve the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for safeguarding national security in Hong Kong. Both subsidiary legislations were promulgated and took immediate effect on the same day.
