Xiaomi SU7 Ultra controversy escalation: hundreds of car owners demand refunds, car owners call on Lei Jun to "keep sincere"
Before the new car YU7 was launched, some Xiaomi SU7 Ultra owners claimed that the new car did not live up to the advertising and demanded a refund. On May 12th, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra owner Yang Lei said in an interview with reporters that he had spent an extra 42,000 yuan when ordering the car to choose the carbon fiber double air intake front hood. Xiaomi had advertised that this hood "adds 2 aerodynamic air intakes, efficiently guiding the front air flow" and also mentioned "internal structure changes, air duct guiding hub heat dissipation," etc. However, many car bloggers found in actual tests that the so-called holes below were very small air intakes, and upon disassembly, it was revealed that the air intakes were not connected to the cooling system or downforce structure. This means that the so-called dual air intake front hood may not match the advertising. Many owners believe that its decorative function outweighs its practical value. In Yang Lei's owner rights protection group, close to 400 owners have collectively requested refunds. "I hope Lei Jun can maintain honesty," the owner called out to Lei Jun, "Facing questions is the only way to restore reputation; if you continue to evade, it may affect the sales of the SU7 series and future high-end models."
