Guangzhou Automobile Group Reform Continues: Major R&D System Adjustments in Transition Period, Insiders Say Internal Competitive Interviews Are Increasing Recently
On May 12th, Bluewhale Motors learned from insiders of GAC Group that the restructuring of the Product Division and Research Institute into a "large R&D system" promoted by GAC Group was completed last month. The original GAC Research Institute was divided into the Vehicle Development Institute, Platform Technology Institute, and Styling Design Institute, along with the Product Division, collectively forming a large R&D system. The adjustment was completed in April, with a trial period starting on April 1st and officially implemented on July 1st. It is reported that GAC's main goal of this adjustment is to align with the IPD process reform at the organizational level. According to the aforementioned insider of GAC, after the adjustment, the Vehicle Development Institute, Platform Technology Institute, Styling Design Institute, and Product Division are all first-level departments under the group's management, "rather than merging the original Research Institute into the Product Division."
