On May 12, Guizhou Maotai held a performance briefing for the year 2024. In response to investors' questions about whether Guizhou Maotai consciously controls the production of Maotai liquor last year, Wang Li, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and director of Guizhou Maotai, stated during the performance meeting that the production of Maotai liquor's base liquor belongs to traditional solid-state open fermentation, and production fluctuations are within the normal range. According to the 2024 annual report, Maotai liquor production was 56,272 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.63%, while sales volume increased by 10.22% year-on-year. In terms of production capacity, Wang Li also mentioned during the performance meeting that the company plans to invest approximately 15.516 billion yuan in the "Maotai Liquor's 14th Five-Year Technological Transformation and Construction Project", planning to construct 68 distilleries, 10 koji making workshops, and 69 wine cellars along with their related supporting facilities. After completion, the new Maotai liquor actual production capacity is expected to be around 19,800 tons per year, with a storage capacity of about 84,700 tons. The specific pace of production capacity release will fully consider factors such as ecological carrying capacity, craftsmanship training, and market conditions, and will be scientifically planned and orderly promoted.
