The Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund announced on Sunday local time that it has decided to revoke its decision to exclude the German utility giant RWE from its investment portfolio. In 2020, the fund excluded RWE, Glencore, Anglo American, Sasol, and AGL Energy from its portfolio based on updated ethical guidelines due to their use and production of coal. In 2022, RWE advanced its coal phase-out plan by 8 years and is preparing to end coal-based power generation by 2030 as part of an agreement reached with the German government.
