CATL's Hong Kong IPO is accepting subscriptions and is expected to become the world's largest IPO transaction this year.
CATL has started to issue shares in Hong Kong, which investors can now subscribe to. This could become the largest public offering globally this year. According to an announcement made on Monday at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, CATL is seeking to raise up to 41 billion Hong Kong dollars. Based on its initial issuance plan, it may raise up to 31 billion Hong Kong dollars, but if the transaction size expands and the over-allotment option is exercised, it could reach the aforementioned amount. The company, headquartered in Fujian, will issue the shares at a price not higher than 263 Hong Kong dollars per share, roughly equivalent to the closing price in the Shenzhen stock market on Thursday. Pricing may occur as early as Tuesday, and the shares are expected to begin trading on May 20th.
