On May 11th local time, Albania held parliamentary elections and elected 140 members of parliament. This election divided the country into 12 electoral districts, with a total of 5,225 polling stations and approximately 3.71 million registered voters. The election started at 7:00 local time and will end at 19:00 on the same day. This parliamentary election also allows Albanian diaspora living abroad to vote through mail and other means for the first time. The parliament is the highest authority and legislative body in the country, with a unicameral system consisting of 140 seats, with a term of 4 years.
