On the afternoon of the 10th, the New Party and other political parties and groups in Taiwan held a parade in Taipei to support mainland spouses in defending their legitimate rights and to oppose the Democratic Progressive Party's harassment and persecution of mainland spouses. The participants in the parade wore clothes with the words "Support mainland spouses, mainland spouses are all part of our family," held banners and slogans saying "Support mainland spouses, oppose persecution, oppose bullying," and shouted slogans to protest against the authorities' unreasonable requirements for mainland spouses to provide proof of "loss of original household registration." The Chinese Unification Promotion Party and the Taiwan Labor Party showed their support. The Democratic Progressive Party authorities demanded that mainland spouses who have not provided the so-called "proof of loss of original household registration" make up for it by a deadline, and those who fail to do so by the deadline may have their settlement permits and household registrations revoked. This move has sparked criticism from various sectors of Taiwanese society, with public opinion pointing out that the authorities are acting from an ideological standpoint, discriminating against and bullying the people, and revealing that the authorities only want to create a mindset of hatred and division. In recent days, various sectors in Taiwan have spoken out against the authorities' manipulation of the status of mainland spouses, demanding an end to the unjust infringement.
